Senior Industrial Solar Designer for Omni Navitas Holdings LLC, Full-time

Responsibilities

This position currently includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities and may be updated at any time:


  • Qualify leads, prepare proposals to offer lease options for commercial, industrial or utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and bulk energy storage system (BESS) development
  • Provide site-related due diligence in support of project origination and acquisition efforts, including environmentally hazardous materials investigations and land-use permitting
  • Run computer simulations of solar PV and BESS projects to optimize their performance
  • Use computer-aided design tools to create detailed three-line electrical drawings, site plans sufficient for permitting and utility interconnection application
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and land owners to discuss project details in order to make revisions and updates to drawings to accommodate their needs
  • Provide technical direction and assistance to field teams and consultant professional engineer during designing and permitting
  • Evaluate available and emerging distributed generation technologies and provide guidance to the company on the application of and the risks associated with the new technology
  • Attend pre-sales and project scoping meetings with project managers and VPs, and work in a team to develop proof of concept for solar development in unexplored markets, staying up-to-date on state and federal incentives programs and regulations for renewable energy development
  • Perform administrative functions including but not limited to incoming calls, copying, scanning, and emailing, and perform other job-related duties as assigned


Qualifications

This position currently requires but is not limited to the following criteria and may be updated at any time:


  • Minimum entry requirement – Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent
  • Trained in using AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVSyst, Google Earth and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of grid connected energy systems and the National Electrical Code is required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to prospect sites in MA, NY and more
  • Must be proficient in English, with excellent written and communication skills
  • Full-time position, Minimum 40-hours per week
