Selectmen on Tuesday approved 20-year agreements with Omni Navitas related to solar power canopies planned to be installed above parking lots at the West Natick MBTA station and a commercial building at 680 Worcester Road in Framingham.
The projects already in the works are diverse. The MBTA approved the installation of 37 solar panels (with Omni Navitas) at T-owned parking facilities, which will generate $55 million for the MBTA over 20 years.
Athanas recently signed an option with Boston-based Omni Navitas to lease two 20-acre parcels where he used to grow hay. He hopes to get at least $2,000 per acre annually after the solar panels go up this summer.
